A hometown lawyer, in the literal sense

Plenty of firms advertise that they're "local." Travis Johns can point to the proof. He was raised in Saraland, graduated from Satsuma High School in 2011, and after finishing his education, came straight back. He lives in Satsuma today, minutes from the office on Saraland Boulevard. The clients who walk through the door aren't a market to him. They're the neighbors and families he grew up around.

Travis earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Alabama in 2015 and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in 2018, one of the South's oldest and most respected trial advocacy programs. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar the same year after sitting for the Uniform Bar Exam.

Experience from both sides of the courtroom

Before opening Travis Johns Law Firm, Travis practiced at firms handling personal injury and insurance defense work, meaning he spent time on both sides of injury litigation. He has represented hurt people fighting for compensation, and he has sat at the other table, seeing firsthand how insurance companies value claims and build their defenses. When he negotiates with an adjuster today, he isn't guessing at their strategy. He's used it.

His years in general practice added the rest of the toolkit: divorce and custody litigation, estate planning, probate administration, and business matters. That range is deliberate. For most families in north Mobile County, legal needs don't arrive one specialty at a time. The same client may need a will one year and a lawyer in their corner after a wreck the next. Travis built the firm to be that lawyer.

Off the clock

Ask around and you'll hear Travis is as serious about fishing as he is about the law. He spent four years on the University of South Alabama Bass Fishing Team, competing in four consecutive national championships, a run that took real preparation and steady nerves. He'd tell you competitive fishing and trial work have more in common than people think. In both, you prepare for conditions you can't control, and you have to perform when it counts.

Today he's still on the water every chance he gets, usually somewhere in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta.

How the firm works

Travis Johns Law Firm is built around direct access: when you hire the firm, you get the attorney, not a rotating cast of case managers. Injury cases are handled on contingency, and many family, estate, and criminal matters are available at flat fees quoted in writing before the work begins, so you know the cost up front.
